JAMES WINES (SITE) is founder and president of SITE, an internationally known architecture and environmental arts organization chartered in New York City in 1970. He is also head of the School of Architecture at Pennsylvania State University. Wines is the designer of more than 200 architecture, interior design, public space, and landscape architecture projects, including clients like PepsiCo, General Mills, Swatch, MCA, Universal, MTV, McDonald’s, and Disney.
ACME Studio is the creative laboratory in the world of personal accessories, and writing instruments, for the creative class. And, for the everyman!
In 1997, ACME released their first collection of fine writing tools. Being the creative team they are and always on the forefront of design, this allowed them freedom to work with globally recognized architects to artists, musicians to tattooists, and even
with Apple Corps, Ltd. For a project with The Beatles and the Le Corbusier Foundation to develop modern, timeless designs for these instruments of expression alongside watches, cufflinks, card cases, and small leather goods.
Founded in 1985 by husband-and-wife team Adrian Olabuenaga and Lesley Bailey, ACME Studio launched with a limited-edition collection of jewelry designed by Peter Shire, a member of the world-renowned Memphis Group. This graduated to working with all fourteen Memphis Designers such as Andrea Branzi, Michele De Lucchi and Ettore Sottsass.
